Credit Suisse is expected to cut thousands of jobs in a cull that could affect London-based staff.
Speculation is growing that the lender is considering plans to shed about 5,000 roles across the bank, out of a total workforce of 51,000.
Expectations of job losses have been growing since July, when the bank announced a review to focus on scaling back its investment banking division into a “capital-light, advisory-led” business alongside the promotion of Ulrich Körner to chief executive.
Credit Suisse has a big presence in London, where it has about 5,500 employees.
The bank said it would update on the review when it delivers its Q3 earnings.
