Vistry gets approval for next stage of Meridian Water

Vistry Partnership has secured approval for the second stage of the £6bn Meridian Water masterplan in Enfield, north London, which will provide a mixed-use scheme with 676 homes.

The proposal, for phase 1b of the scheme, includes 13,000 sq ft of flexible commercial floorspace, a 6,000 sq ft NHS GP surgery, a 9,000 sq ft leisure space, and more than 86,000 sq ft of public open space.

Of the 676 homes, 50% will be affordable, split across London Affordable Rent and shared ownership tenures.

The Meridian Water regeneration project is led by the London Borough of Enfield. Over 25 years, the ambition is to create 10,000 homes, of which thousands will be affordable, and 6,000 jobs.

Vistry received reserved matter planning approval for the first 300 homes in phase 1a.

The first stage of the phase, delivered across plots A and E, was approved in 2017, providing 950 homes and more than 25,000 sq ft of leisure, retail, office and community spaces.

CBRE advised Vistry on the planning application.
