M7 hires investment head for listed markets

M7 Real Estate has hired a head of investment for listed markets, bringing in a former wealth manager who set up his own shop during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Robert Stokely founded wealth manager Sandaire’s real estate division alongside Chris Horler in 2019, before which he had worked at Lambert Smith Hampton, where he was founding director of LSH Investment Management.

Schroders struck a deal to buy Sandaire in late 2020, bringing the business into Cazenove Capital, its existing wealth management business, after which Stokely and Horler broke away to establish The Real Estate Investment Office – or TREIO – to advise ultra-high-net-worth individuals, wealthy families, trusts and charities on their real estate investments and activities.

In a social media post announcing his move to M7, Stokely pointed to the company’s backing of the real estate-focused IPSX stock exchange as an example of the kind of initiative that attracted him to the company.

“M7 are known to be innovators and the launch of IPSX – the first regulated stock exchange for real estate – is testament to this,” he said.
