Police have arrested a British businessman accused of concealing assets of sanctioned Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska.
Graham Bonham-Carter potentially faces up to 60 years in prison after being arrested yesterday on a US warrant.
He is alleged to have funded the billionaire’s properties in the US and the UK, including a £50m mansion in Belgrave Square, SW1, and to have tried to expatriate the oligarch’s artwork from New York to London.
Bonham-Carter – a member of the family which includes the actress Helena – was arrested by Scotland Yard officers in Cranleigh, Surrey, where he lives in a £5.5m mansion. He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court hours later.
