Zara sizes up at Glasgow Fort

Zara is set to double its presence at British Land’s Glasgow Fort retail park by relocating to a 37,000 sq ft store.

The location was previously occupied by Topshop and Topman. Further terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The store is set to open in late 2023 and will be located across two floors, featuring an expanded range of products across womenswear, menswear, childrenswear and homeware.

Ben Grose, head of retail leasing at British Land, said: “Zara’s decision to double its footprint and open a flagship store at Glasgow Fort is a fantastic endorsement for the park.

“Since the pandemic, we’ve seen retail parks become increasingly popular with retailers and their customers due to affordability of space, larger stores, accessibility and rapid growth of click and collect, which has helped drive strong leasing activity over the past 18 months.”

Glasgow Fort’s existing line-up of fashion retailers include Next, Mango, Marks & Spencer and River Island.
