Retirement Villages Group, which forms a part of AXA IM Real Assets, has secured planning permission for its project at Tunbridge Wells in Kent.
The developer is set to build a retirement community scheme, comprising 166 homes, at the former ABC cinema site on Mount Pleasant Road which has lain vacant for more than two decades.
In addition, RVG has proposed a wide range of on-site amenities including a restaurant, bar, hydro-therapy pool, gym, and multi-purpose function room.
There will also be nine new retail facilities and landscaped spaces open to the public.
The development will be whole-of-life net zero carbon. This will be RVG’s second such development following its scheme at West Byfleet, Surrey.
