St Modwen Homes has secured a resolution to grant full planning permission to build an additional 205 homes at Longbridge on the historic MG Rover site in Birmingham.
Birmingham City Council resolved to grant full planning permission for three new blocks on land just off Dalmuir Road. The 205 homes will comprise 100 one-bedroom flats and 105 two-bedroom flats.
All three blocks will have communal roof terraces available exclusively to residents. The latest phase will also include space for more than 200 bicycles and will have 105 car parking spaces; all of which will include an electric vehicle charging point.
Dave Smith, managing director at St Modwen Homes, said: “Longbridge is fast becoming a thriving community hub in which people can live, work and play. We are delighted to receive planning on what is another phase of many. These new apartments represent a positive next step in the regeneration of the area and will provide sought-after homes, conveniently located next to public transport links and amenities.”
Longbridge has been extensively regenerated over recent years. On completion of the project, St Modwen hopes to have delivered 3,000 new homes, 2m sq ft of commercial floorspace and up to 10,000 jobs at Longbridge.
