Caro plans Preston police station to PBSA redevelopment

Purpose-built student accommodation developer Caro has submitted a planning application with Preston City Council to convert part of the city’s former police headquarters into a 227-room PBSA scheme.

The proposed redevelopment on the site on Lawson Street comprises an L-shaped building of two blocks ranging between seven and nine storeys.

The designs, by architect Falconer Chester Hall, include an onsite gym, amenity areas, study spaces, a cinema room, a landscaped roof terrace, laundry facilities and cycle storage.

The existing site comprises of a one-storey elevated car park adjacent to an existing 10 storey student residential development.

Zerum is advising Caro on planning for the scheme and LDA Design is advising on landscaping.
