Loungers joins leisure community at the Springs Leeds

Loungers is set to open its second venue in Yorkshire in late February after signing a 15-year lease at the Springs in Leeds.

The move comes as Loungers plans to add around 30 café bars across the UK during its next financial year. The company currently operates more than 200 locations nationwide.

The Springs is a 350,000 sq ft leisure destination located at the heart of Thorpe Park. Loungers’ new 4,080 sq ft café-bar will be adjacent to Nando’s and the Odeon Luxe Cinema. To be known as Caballero Lounge, the venue is expected to offer a home-from-home setting, serving a food and drinks all day.

Rachel Vickers, senior commercial manager at Scarborough Group International, which is responsible for asset management of the Springs and Thorpe Park Leeds, said: “The introduction of a new café-bar, sitting alongside the cinema and existing food and beverage outlets, will widen the audience appeal and catchment with reason to spend more time at the Springs.”

Homeware retailer Dunelm opened a 18,362 sq ft store at the Springs last April. Other recent openings include Betty Loves Candles and Elan Laser Clinics.
