U+I hires ex-Bruntwood SciTech dev boss to lead Mayfield team

U+I has appointed Laura Percy as development director for Mayfield, the £1.5bn project in Manchester city centre.

Percy joins from Bruntwood SciTech, where she was head of the development team working on the masterplan vision for the £1bn innovation district for ID Manchester. She has also previously worked in Hong Kong for the Swire Group.

The move follows the delivery of Mayfield Park in September last year and a funding deal secured for further development of the scheme in November 2022.

Mayfield Partnership, a public-private joint venture between regeneration developer U+I, Manchester City Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and LCR, expects to be on site this year with a 24-month programme to deliver the neighbourhood’s first buildings, the 76,000 sq ft office Poulton and the car park.

Percy said: “Manchester is going from strength to strength and is no stranger to innovation. I’m thrilled to join the team taking the development through its next stages to create something genuinely world-class for the local community.”
