Rapleys acquires affordable housing consultancy

Rapleys has acquired consultancy S106 Affordable Housing, in its third acquisition in the last six months.

Previously, Rapleys added planning practice CSJ in October and property consultancy firm Aston Rose in December.
The acquisitions were made as part of Rapleys rebranding and repositioning in November with residential being made one of the company’s four core divisions. S106 Affordable Housing will become part of the development consulting team, strengthening the firm’s affordable housing offer.

S106 Affordable Housing was set up in 2012 by managing director Simon Corp (pictured) as a consulting business focussing on recurring viability assessment work for private developers, landowners, planners and architects, and housing associations.

The company’s core clients include developers Fortitudo Group and Malins Group and housing associations Vivid Homes and Silva Homes.

As part of the acquisition, Corp will become a partner at Rapleys, working with head of residential Nick Fell and the wider team.

Fell added: “We have been working on our growth plan with residential one of four core divisions the business is focussed around. Simon and his business have a huge track record, loyal clients and unique client-side insight into the challenges that housing associations face, which will strengthen our expertise in this area and add huge value to our existing clients, and the team itself.”
