Hollis buys service charge consultancy

Real estate consultancy Hollis has begun a period of “proactive growth” with the acquisition of Launder Steedman, a business specialising in commercial property service charges.

As part of the deal, Launder Steedman’s founder and owner Nick Launder will join Hollis as a consultant. He brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of service charges, spanning some 25 years, with a track record of making substantial savings for blue-chip and major commercial property occupiers, including Vue Entertainment, Hollywood Bowl, Co-operative Bank, Staycity, Booker Retail Partners, Azzuri and Beavertown Brewery.

Hollis said the acquisition was a strategic decision to grow its service charge offering, which is led by director Iain Feasey, and represents “the start of a period of proactive growth” for the firm. It currently operates out of more than 20 offices throughout the UK and Europe.

Feasey said: “Launder Steedman has earned a reputation as one of the most successful service charge companies across the UK and Ireland. Nick has built an impressive client base and this acquisition gives us a great platform for broader growth and expansion across commercial service charge. Our team already prides itself on being able to help both landlords and tenants to get better outcomes when tackling the complex service charge issues. This acquisition will help us add increased value to our clients. We look forward to working closely alongside Nick to grow the service further.”

Launder added: “We are extremely excited to join Hollis having worked closely with the firm on a number of properties over the years. The resources and backing that we will now have through the wider Hollis teams of experts will be of significant benefit to our clients. We look forward to this next chapter.”
