At a planning meeting last week, Bellway Homes received planning approval for its scheme to develop 617 homes at the Avenue Road Estate in Leytonstone, east London.
The four-acre project will regenerate a 1960s estate owned and managed by the London Borough of Waltham Forest.
The site currently comprises 241 social rented homes, 17 leasehold homes and 8,400 sq ft of community space.
Bellway’s approved proposal will provide 242 re-provided social rented homes, eight homes at London affordable rent, 23 homes for shared ownership and 344 homes for the private market.
The regeneration scheme will also provide 83 car parking spaces, 1,321 long-stay cycle parking spaces, 9,000 sq ft of community space and 2,300 sq ft of commercial space.
The homes will be provided across a series of linked blocks ranging in height up to 23 storeys.
