The former Dragons’ Den panellist Theo Paphitis has said retailers are facing “one of the most complex balancing acts ever”.
Two of his retail businesses, stationer Ryman and lingerie chain Boux Avenue, face “material uncertainty” about remaining going concerns after being forced into the red by the Covid crisis.
Ryman has 205 stores nationwide and Boux Avenue has 30.
But Paphitis said he was “still confident on physical retail”. He also owns Robert Dyas and has plans to open at least another seven of the stores, including one this week.
