Savills has expanded its industrial and logistics occupier advisory team with the hires of JLL directors Tom Shaw and Michael Alderton.
Shaw and Alderton will be based at the firm’s London HQ at 33 Margaret Street, W1.
Alderton, who left JLL in January, will join Savills to help spearhead its occupier advisory growth and expansion. He has more than 40 years’ experience in the sector, working primarily with occupiers on acquisitions and disposals. Those included Tesco, Clipper, Walgreens Boots Alliance and Wayfair, particularly in relation to the big box market.
Prior to Alderton’s role at JLL, he was head of industrial and logistics at Lambert Smith Hampton for 29 years.
At JLL, Shaw advised tenants including Iron Mountain, Royal Mail and Wayfair, as well as a range of occupiers including Dulux and Just Eat, on all aspects of their property portfolio.
Shaw has more than eight years’ experience. He began his real estate career at Colliers International, before he left for JLL in 2018 to focus on occupier-led advisory.
The pair will join George Unwin and Emily Hardwick in the industrial and logistics occupier advisory team, where they are tasked with further growing the corporate tenant roster and expanding its capabilities.
