Elon Musk’s Twitter Inc and the Crown Estate have settled a lawsuit after the social media platform paid rental arrears on its London headquarters.
The Crown Estate filed a lawsuit at the High Court in London on 19 January alleging non-payment of rent. The lawsuit, filed against both Twitter Inc and Twitter UK Ltd, has now been withdrawn.
Twitter has a £2.6m lease for the third floor at 20 Air Street, W1, which the Crown Estate owns.
This is not the first time Twitter has been pursued for rent arrears. Earlier this month a separate lawsuit was filed against Twitter relating to its headquarters in San Francisco, where the company reportedly owes $136,260 (£112,530) in unpaid rent.
The social media giant has been cutting costs and staff since billionaire entrepreneur Musk paid $44bn to take control of Twitter in October last year.
