Loungers has signed a 15-year lease at Animate, Preston’s £45m cinema and leisure complex, which is being delivered by Maple Grove Developments.
The café bar chain will occupy 4,265 sq ft of space at an initial rent of £100,000 per annum.
Three restaurant operators took space at the scheme late last year. Italian restaurant Zizzi will be moving into 3,250 sq ft on the main terrace, which fronts Preston’s market canopy. Latin American bar Las Iguanas has taken 3,750 sq ft, and world buffet operator Cosmo will occupy 11,000 sq ft on the upper floor.
In addition, Arc Cinema and Hollywood Bowl have signed for a combined 50,000 sq ft.
Gemma Irwin, community manager at Loungers, said: “A real home from home, we will cater for all tastes throughout the day, with a varied and innovative all-day menu. Whether it’s a coffee with friends, a long, lazy brunch with family or a relaxed dinner and drinks, our lounge will be the perfect place to relax and unwind in good company.”
Three facilities remain vacant at Animate, suitable for a restaurant operator, a food hub and a social space. Bradys and CBRE are the joint lettings agents for Animate.
Main contractor Eric Wright Construction began work on the project last month, with the scheme opening scheduled for late 2024.
