M Core launches with £1bn to invest

Some of the biggest beasts in commercial property investment have united to create M Core, an umbrella brand with a £1bn investment target into UK and European real estate this year.

The commercial property collective comprises family-run investors including LCP, Evolve Estates, Sheet Anchor, GIPAM and Proudreed, with a value above €5.5bn.

M Core, which is headquartered in the UK, will look at opportunities across the industrial, office, residential and retail sectors. Its teams have more than 35 years’ experience of investing in the commercial property market, and M Core has a track record in identifying opportunities requiring intensive management and ultimately maximising value.

M Core has also partnered with Savills’ former European head of investment, Oliver Fraser-Looen, to identify investment opportunities and drive its expansion plans.

Fraser-Looen said: “It is going to be an incredible journey and I look forward to helping to drive the business forward as it looks to grow assets under ownership. We have incredibly ambitious growth plans, which the family and investors are fully backing.“

Sebastian MacDonald-Hall, chief investment officer of the group said: “As a collective, we are truly excited about what opportunities the market will present over the next few years. As a collective, we are well positioned and capitalised to take advantage of these opportunities and realise value. We felt that by bringing all our businesses under one umbrella allows us to maximise the potential of the combined portfolios, highlighting our strength driven by the exceptional core values we share.”

He added: “Across all the territories that we operate in, the M Core collective is committed to three things: our partners, our tenants, and our team. It has been through this commitment that we have achieved an impressive 94% occupancy rate across the portfolio and continue to add value to all our assets through our proactive management strategy and market leading management platforms in country.”
