McLaren Property has won permission to revive St Gabriel’s chapel and lodge in Manchester as 319 student beds.
The £70m SimpsonHaugh-designed redevelopment will restore two of the buildings which were previously used as female-only accommodation for students at the University of Manchester.
The two-acre site is close to the University of Manchester and Manchester Metropolitan University campuses, located on Oxford Place.
The plans include the addition of two new buildings of four and five storeys.
The chapel will be refurbished to provide shared amenity space for residents.
