Palmbest has signed Eakin Healthcare for the former Bestway wholesale facility on Bringley Road in Leckwith, west Cardiff.
The manufacturer of disposable stoma healthcare products has taken a 20-year lease on the 81,905 sq ft facility, which comprises a two-bay warehouse, two-storey office and storage space. The rent agreed equates to £4.75 per sq ft.
The move is expected to support the firm’s expansion plans, freeing up space at its manufacturing site in Taff’s Well. The company also occupies a manufacturing and distribution centre at Cardiff Business Park through its subsidiary Pelican Healthcare.
Neil Winstanley, chief operations officer at Eakin Healthcare, said: “Expanding into this new facility in Cardiff will secure the future of our operations in the UK and allow us to continue to grow our prescription service.”
Cushman & Wakefield advised Eakin; JLL represented Palmbest.
Chris Yates, a partner in Cushman & Wakefield’s UK logistics and industrial team, said: “The company has a long heritage in Cardiff and this expansion underlines the business’s commitment to the region.”
Heather Lawrence, a director in JLL’s industrial and logistics Cardiff team, added: “Eakin’s expansion into Brindley Road reflects the rising demand for high-quality and well-connected spaces in the Cardiff market from occupiers.”
