Bidwells has added four people to its growing energy and renewables department, which has doubled in size over the past year.
The move is a part of the consultancy’s expansion plan. In the ESG sphere, Bidwells offers 28 services including battery storage, carbon investment and peatland restoration.
Ash Blewer and George Ellis-Hancock will join as an associate and consultant, respectively.
Blewer was previously a land officer at National Grid, and has 10 years’ experience in delivering infrastructure projects. In his new role, he will be responsible for liaising with landowners to facilitate the development of solar and battery storage projects.
Ellis-Hancock joins from Scottish Power where he worked on renewables real estate projects. At Bidwells he will be advising on onshore renewable energy developments across Scotland.
Also joining Bidwells’ energy and renewables team are Rachael Mackintosh, who will be assistant to partner Andy Fewings, and Debbie Small, PA to head of the department Rosalind Clifford.
Mackintosh joins from Balfour Beatty, where she worked on infrastructure projects, while Small comes from housebuilder Persimmon Homes, where she was PA to the construction director.
Clifford said: “These new appointments are part of the next phase of our expansion plans as we continue to enable the delivery of vital energy and infrastructure projects.
“Our work across onshore wind, hydro, solar energy, and storage is growing fast. These areas of expertise are increasingly not seen in isolation but as a fundamental part of delivering a climate-positive future as part of a land and property portfolio delivering sustainability goals.”
