Chelmsford City Council has appointed Knight Frank to find a development partner for part of Chelmer Waterside, a waterfront development with the potential to provide 1,000 homes.
The major brownfield regeneration site (pictured) will be spread across three substantial plots totalling 15.6 acres.
The sites are at the pre-planning stage, with multiple phasing solutions and the flexibility to deliver a mix of residential tenures and commercial uses.
Sophie Thompson, a partner in the development strategy and finance team at Knight Frank said: “This is a rare opportunity to acquire three substantial plots located on a prime waterside setting within easy commuter distance to London.
“With the site already allocated for high-density residential-led development, yet still in the pre-planning phase, this is an exceptional opportunity that offers a blank canvas to potential development partners.”
Knight Frank’s residential land and development strategy and finance teams are jointly instructed to advise Chelmsford City Council.
Offers are invited on a ‘bid compliant’ joint venture basis, although traditional unconditional or subject-to-planning offers will also be considered.
