BNY Mellon staff face ‘corrective action’ over too much WFH

BNY Mellon has warned its employees that “corrective action” will be taken if workers do not attend the office for a minimum of three days per week.

Roman Regelman, senior executive vice president at the bank, notified staff in an email on 30 March that “the number of days flex employees are expected to be in the office will change to a minimum of three days per week,” and “those who are not adhering to the three-day policy are subject to corrective action”, according to The Sunday Times.

The changes at the investment bank, which has 10 offices in the UK, took effect from 10 April. Regelman did not ask staff to attend on certain days, but said “managers may encourage teams to come together on certain days to optimise employee experience”.

Employees are said to be seeking legal advice over the new working arrangements.
