Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett has leased an 11,000 sq ft office building within the Truman Brewery estate in London’s Spitalfields for his new headquarters.
The millionaire entrepreneur, also known for his podcast The Diary of a CEO, will take 17 Hanbury Street, E1, on a 10-year lease, with a five-year break option, for around £400,000 per year, EG understands.
The property, owned by Truman Estates, will be the base for Bartlett’s portfolio of companies, including marketing and communications firm Flight Story, as well as his personal branding team.
The site was previously occupied by global design agency Wieden+Kennedy.
Oli Cohen, partner at Belcor, which acted with Thompson Yates to advise Truman Estates on the deal, told EG: “Steven Bartlett is one of our country’s most exciting entrepreneurs with a global profile, and so being part of Truman, an estate which is filled with innovators such as Dream Factory and David Beckham’s Guild ESports, feels like a perfect fit.”
He added: “The search with Steven and his team took more than 18 months, but 17 Hanbury Street was always the building they wanted, and it was one of those where the timing fell into place and felt like a deal [that] was meant to be.”
