Primark owner Associated British Foods has outlined plans to boost the retailer’s store footprint in the US and expand its click-and-collect trial in the UK.
The retailer is seeking a new distribution centre in Florida and is set to sign stores leases in states including Texas. Its existing ambition is to grow its store count in the market to 60 by 2026, from 16.
Primark is also aiming to expand its click-and-collect trial to 57 stores, after launching it in 25 locations last year.
Pretax profit at the group inched up to £644m in the 24 weeks to 4 March, while revenue jumped by 21% to nearly £9.6bn.
Chief executive George Weston said that the retailer is “through the worst” of a period of inflationary pressure.
