Andrew Stanford joins Deloitte as head of residential capital markets

Andrew Stanford has been appointed as Deloitte’s head of residential capital markets, after a year and a half at Colliers as head of build-to-rent.

Stanford was also previously head of residential asset management at LaSalle Investment Management and head of the government’s Private Rented Sector Taskforce from 2013-2015.

He was appointed to run the task force by then-housing minister Mark Prisk and former head of the civil service Lord Kerslake, leading a team of residential specialists to stimulate what has become known as the build-to-rent sector.

Stanford said in a LinkedIn post: “More or less 10 years ago this young(ish) chap led an awesome team of industry experts… in the UK government’s PRS Taskforce under the housing minister Mark Prisk.

“Its principal aim was to kick-start build-to-rent (not that it was called this then). This is now a £30bn-plus industry with just under 250,000 homes either built, under construction or in planning (from BPF research).”

Stanford added that in his role at Deloitte he will be “working closely with colleagues in audit and assurance, consulting, financial advisory, risk advisory, tax and legal to provide end to end advice in a sector which is set for continuing growth”.
