Law firm Taylor Wessing has signed a new lease at Landsec’s 5 New Street Square, EC4, lifting its occupation of the building to 175,000 sq ft from 166,000 sq ft from 2025.
The 17.5-year lease will see Taylor Wessing take an additional floor in the building, which it has occupied since 2008. The parties declined to discuss further terms of the lease.
As part of the deal, the law firm and Landsec will team up on what they called an “extensive refurbishment” of the building. That will include decarbonising the building by replacing gas boilers with air-source heat pumps. The new space will target a minimum of BREEAM Excellent and WELL Gold Core.
When that work begins at the end of this year, Taylor Wessing will move into Hill House, EC4.
