Savills has appointed Alexander Glavas as a director in cross border retail.
Glavas has a retailer background, having previously worked at Aesop as a real estate manager and H&M as senior lease manager for expansion. Most recently, he worked at Waterdrop as global store expansion lead.
In his new role, Glavas will be based in London and focus predominantly on Europe.
He will work alongside retailers on store locations and expansion strategies, as well as supporting on landlord instructions to provide both consultancy and transactional real estate advice.
Laura Clowes, global cross border retail director at Savills, said: “Alexander’s strong retailer background means that he has an undisputed knowledge of what drives growth for brands. He speaks their language and can identify opportunities across different markets, having built robust relationships throughout both mass market and aspirational luxury.
“His appointment bolsters our global retail offering and allows us to expand further on the cross border service we provide to our international clients.”
Glavas said he had joined the agent at a “pivotal time in the wider retail industry”.
