Assura set for move to new Manchester HQ

Assura is relocating its head office to Altrincham, Manchester, in July.

The healthcare REIT will move from Brew House in Warrington, Cheshire, where it has been based for 12 years, to 3 Barrington Road. The firm’s 78 employees will be based at the new headquarters.

It plans to refurbish the building with updates including new windows, insulation of the building fabric and enhanced ESG features.

Assura chief executive Jonathan Murphy said: “As an organisation, we have pledged to meet the World Green Building Council’s Net Zero Carbon Buildings Commitment and this move to a new building represents a key part of that strategy.

“This base will allow us to lead by example. We will trial the latest technologies and new ways of working, creating a space we are proud to bring our customers to: somewhere where we can bring to life all the net-zero standards we’re pushing to see across healthcare premises.”

The move follows the company’s launch of its Net Zero Carbon Design Guide.

The guide, which came out in May, has already been adopted across Assura’s new developments at RIBA Stage 2 and will be implemented on its future developments.

It provides design-led guidance which is mapped against a development’s typical lifecycle using the RIBA stages of work.

The listed real estate investment trust is responsible for 608 properties with a portfolio value of £2.7bn.
