CVC Capital enters £4bn Center Parcs race

CVC Capital Partners has entered the £4bn race to buy Center Parcs from Brookfield.

The private equity firm, which already owns Away Resorts – with sites including Tattershall Lakes in Lincolnshire and Sandy Balls in the New Forest – after a £250m deal in 2021, is poised to make an offer for the family holiday resorts group.

Several other bids have already been revealed for the company, which has six sites across the UK and Ireland, including from French infrastructure fund Antin.

Center Parcs was bought by Brookfield Property Partners in 2015 from Blackstone for £2.4bn.

Brookfield has now hired bankers at Barclays, Bank of America and Eastdil Secured to manage the sale, with bids are expected to be in excess of £4bn.
