Half of Stonegate’s tied pub tenants are not happy with how they are being treated by their landlord.
The annual survey by the Pubs Code Adjudicator looked at six groups regulated by the government code, which was introduced in 2016 to give a fairer deal to tenants. One in five tenants said they were “actively unsatisfied” with how they were treated by their landlord, with three in five saying they were happy with the relationship.
At the other end to private equity-owned Stonegate, Marston’s, the listed brewer and pub owner, had the highest overall satisfaction rates, with 85% of tenants saying they were happy.
