Alantra signs for London investment bank HQ

Spanish bank Alantra has chosen Pembroke’s 25 Cannon Street, EC4, as its investment banking headquarters – becoming the latest tenant to sublet space in the building after asset manager Brewin Dolphin’s own aborted HQ move.

Alantra has taken 20,000 sq ft in the building and will base 180 professionals there, including dealmakers specialising in mergers and acquisitions, debt and structured finance. The move will see Alantra shift the investment banking HQ from Madrid.

The company said the City of London’s standing as a global financial centre means it is “a natural next step to create a key hub” in the capital. Staff in the office will include Miguel Hernández, chief executive of investment banking, and Andy Currie, co-chairman of investment banking.

Alantra has taken a 15-year lease on the space, subletting from Brewin Dolphin, according to Radius data.

Brewin Dolphin said in 2019 that it would move its headquarters to the building in 2022, but reversed its plans during the Covid-19 pandemic as it moved to a flexible working model.

Since then, the company has sublet three floors to law firm Dechert, with FMR Investment Management also taking space.
