Sir Michael Hopkins, architect of Portcullis House in Westminster, the Mound Stand at Lord’s Cricket Ground and the London Olympic velodrome has died, aged 88.
He and his wife, Patty, formed Hopkins Architects in 1976 and won the Royal Gold Medal for architecture in 1994.
He was elected to the Royal Academy in 1992 and knighted for services to architecture in 1995.
