Regulations to set up a Responsible Actors Scheme for residential developers have been passed into law.
The scheme will mean that any developer that refuses to comply with the government’s remediation policy will be prohibited from carrying out major development and gaining building control sign-off.
The regulations cover all residential buildings above 11m in height.
It follows a concerted effort by levelling up secretary Michael Gove to make residential developers pay for the remediation of existing residential buildings with inadequate fire safety provisions.
