Vacancy levels at Canary Wharf hit 18-year high

Canary Wharf is at its emptiest since 2005, as big tenants announce plans to fly the nest.

Vacancy rates at the estate hit 14.8% in the second quarter of this year, a level last seen 18 years ago.

While that is partly due to more space coming to completion, it will only be exacerbated by HSBC’s plans to leave, and Moody’s preparing to downsize.
