FTSE 250 REIT LondonMetric is adding to the solar panel capacity across its portfolio by adding PV panels to warehouses in Coventry and Bicester.
The system will total 577 kWp and is expected to save around 100 tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum and increase LondonMetric’s total installed solar PV capacity to 4.2MWp.
LondonMetric is working with its tenants, food producer Aubrey Allen and builder Greencore Homes on the project.
At Coventry, 275 kWp of solar capacity has been added at Aubrey Allen’s warehouse (pictured), which equates to around 25% of its annual energy needs.
At Bicester, 302 kWp will be installed later this year on a warehouse let to Greencore Homes, which builds climate-positive homes.
The smart grid system, which includes a 100kW/ 200kWh battery storage system, will be installed and operated by SNRG and is expected to meet around 40% of Greencore’s annual energy needs.
Mark Stirling, asset director at LondonMetric, said: We are increasingly engaging with our occupiers to help them deliver on their net-zero carbon targets and reduce their energy costs.”
