Northeastern University has taken four floors in Alfred Equities’ newly refurbished One Portsoken in Aldgate, E1.
The US higher education institution has agreed a 12-year lease for 98,388 sq ft at £50.76 per sq ft.
It will occupy floors 5-8 in the 230,000 sq ft grade-A office building, which was refurbished and repositioned in 2021.
New York-based investor Abraham Schwartz bought the building for £97m in 2018. Features of the updated office include 9,127 sq ft of terraces and a restaurant, café and bar.
The ground to third floors were let to BPP University in 2021 when it took 83,862 sq ft on a 14-year lease.
Compton, Cushman & Wakefield and Noble Harris acted for the landlord; Knight Frank acted for Northeastern University.
