Plans in for Teesside Industrial Estate expansion

UK Land Estates has lodged proposals to expand Teesside Industrial Estate in Thornaby, North Yorkshire.

The developer plans to construct two storage and distribution facilities, measuring 51,800 sq ft each. The project, designed by Faulknersbrowns Architects, also includes the delivery of 88 car-parking spaces.

If approved, work on the scheme will start in the third quarter of next year, with completion due in the first quarter of 2025.

The estate was established in 1964 and covers almost 300 acres of land. It is located to the west of the A19, the main north-south vehicular route through Teesside, which links Teesside with Tyne & Wear and Yorkshire.

Over the past decade, UK Land Estates has refurbished the industrial portfolio on the estate and improved the road infrastructure, built a retail parade and a pub/restaurant.

Occupants include Shell, Screwfix, Doosan, Mammoet, DHL and Howdens.

Lichfields has been appointed as planning adviser on the project.
