Merlin Entertainments, the company behind leisure attractions including Alton Towers, Legoland and the Peppa Pig theme park, has signed for new office space in London.
The company will take a floor at the Arbor building, 255 Blackfriars Road, SE1, in Native Land’s Bankside Yards scheme on the south bank of the River Thames.
Merlin is currently headquartered in Poole in Dorset. Its 10-year lease on roughly 13,500 sq ft of flex space across the 16th floor of Arbor will begin in January.
Arbor was the first building to complete at Bankside Yards, with tenants including law firm Lewis Silkin and the Carbon Trust. It has a Platinum Wiredscore rating, is BREEAM Excellent and is set to receive a Gold certification under the WELL scheme.
Merlin, owned by a consortium comprising Lego-owner Kirkbi, CPP Investment Board and Blackstone, said in a half-year review published last month that it had seen “continued growth” in revenue and profit over the first half of 2023, driven by its Asia-Pacific business and a recovering international tourism market.
JLL advised Merlin on the leasing. Knight Frank and Ingleby Trice are leasing agents for Arbor.
