Lords committee begins inquiry into MMC

A Lords committee will launch its inquiry into the future for modern methods of construction today.

The House of Lords’ Built Environment Committee is gathering evidence to understand the challenges that MMC manufacturers face, given that a number of companies have either fallen into administration or halted production.

The inquiry will explore the barriers to the increased delivery of MMC homes, and the effectiveness of the government’s approach in resolving those barriers.

The committee will hear evidence from TopHat chairman Carl Leaver and Vistry Group chief commercial officer Michael Stirrop at Westminster this morning. More evidence will be heard in November.
