Pizza Express is considering a takeover of Wagamama and Frankie & Benny’s owner, the Restaurant Group.
According to Sky News, Pizza Express is in preliminary stages of evaluating whether to make a rival offer for TRG, which this month agreed to be bought by Apollo Global Management for just over £500m.
TRG operates more than 400 restaurants in the UK.
There is no guarantee a formal offer will be made.
