City Corporation reveals the Square Mile’s 2030 skyline

The City of London Corporation has released images of what the City of London’s skyline will look like in 2030 after development approvals soared over the past year.

The images show how the skyline will have changed when new towers under development and in planning will have completed across the City cluster.

The corporation’s planning and transportation committee has recorded a 25% increase in applications received and decided, compared with 2022. The committee said it is negotiating development proposals to provide some 5.4m sq ft of office space, with a similar amount already approved and under construction.

Buildings set to complete by 2030 include 50 Fenchurch Street, EC3, and 40 Leadenhall Street, EC3.

Shravan Joshi, chair of planning and transportation, said the changing skyline is a sign that “the City office is here to stay and that the Square Mile’s real estate sector is robust and thriving, despite wider economic concerns”.
