Canmoor Developments is looking to bring forward a 1m sq ft industrial development on land at Millfield Lane and Liverpool Road in St Helens, Merseyside.
The scheme, to be known as Millfield Park, will span 52 acres, providing industrial, distribution and warehouse facilities of various sizes.
The new buildings will target a BREEAM Very Good rating.
Canmoor is also exploring the opportunity to acquire 5, 5a and 7 Liverpool Road to bring these into the development.
Millfield Park will be adjacent to Florida Farm, which is home to Amazon and Kellogg’s. The Haydock Lane Industrial Estate is also located nearby.
Last month, St Helens Borough Council gave the green light to Canmoor for the delivery of four warehouses, measuring a combined 290,625 sq ft, off Haydock Lane. The move came three years after the initial proposals were rejected by the council owing to concerns that they would harm the green belt. This parcel of land has now been released from the green belt under the local authority’s recently adopted local plan.
The Millfield Park site is therefore expected to form an extension to the existing Haydock Lane Industrial Estate and provide new, modern and energy-efficient facilities to meet employment demand and assist with the retention of local businesses in the area.
