Business closures have overtaken openings for the first time since 2010.
The number of businesses set up in 2022 dropped by 7% to 337,000 compared with 2021, driven by sharp decreases in retail, real estate, construction and couriers.
In the same period, there was a 5% rise in the number of business closures.
