Knight Frank has named Charlie Hart as its new head of development land, and he will officially take over from Justin Gaze in Q1 2024 when Gaze retires from the agency.
Hart (pictured) is an equity partner at Knight Frank and established the City and East residential development team in 2004, and has been head of that team since then.
He will continue to oversee the London land (City and East and central London), regional land, education and charities, development strategy and finance and valuations teams.
Knight Frank has also promoted Nick Alderman, who will lead Knight Frank’s central London land offering.
Alderman joined Knight Frank in 2006 and has been a partner at the firm for more than 12 years. He will work closely alongside James Barton, head of City and East land.
Hart said: “It is an exciting time for the land market – things seem to have balanced out, and we are entering a recovery market in 2024. The living sectors and the super-prime London market are two areas that we are watching very closely.
“As investment into the living sectors grows across London and other key cities regionally, the demand for development sites will also increase. Meanwhile, in London, the land pipeline for super-prime developments has greatly diminished in recent years and prime sites will continue to be incredibly sought-after.
“Our teams are ideally placed to take advantage of these opportunities and provide clients with strategic solutions that will help drive success in an ever-evolving real estate landscape.”
