GLA consults over industrial land guidance

London mayor Sadiq Khan is consulting on guidance for the industrial land needed to support the capital’s economy.

The consultation over the new London Plan Guidance aims to ensure that development plans and proposals provide enough industrial space that is fit for purpose, with advice on key planning aspects for development.

Announcing the consultation, the Greater London Authority said the guidance will set “strategic guidelines” for planning authorities, applicants, developers and consultants. It will provide planning authorities with clarity on demand-and-supply evidence and how to assess “sufficient supply” to meet industrial demand.

The consultation closes on 28 February with an in-person event to discuss the initiative at City Hall on 15 January.
