Barsad Investments has filed a planning application with Southampton City Council to replace St Margaret’s House, a four-storey purpose-built student accommodation block with 100 beds.
The building, located at 6-8 Hulse Road, was constructed in the 1970s but was refurbished in 2018 and a new lobby has been constructed.
Barsad’s plans include developing 198 student bedspaces, which will be provided in the form of studios and “two-dios”.
The scheme will also include generous on-site amenity spaces including a gym, a cinema and student social spaces on each floor.
