Life Science REIT adds new tenant at Oxford Technology Park

Life Science REIT has signed a new occupier at the Innovation Quarter at Oxford Technology Park.

Quantum Advanced Solutions, a developer of quantum dot sensors, will move into 5,551 sq ft of workspace. The deal was signed for 10 years at £22 per sq ft.

The Innovation Quarter, measuring 69,700 sq ft, reached practical completion in August 2023. The building is EPC A rated and is on track to achieve a BREEAM Excellent certification.

Ian Harris, director of asset management at Ironstone Asset Management, Life Science REIT’s investment adviser, said: “This is the second letting at the Innovation Quarter at Oxford Technology Park, proving the concept that emerging life science businesses want more flexible and more affordable space.”

In August last year, Oxford Gene Technology, part of listed Japanese healthcare business Sysmex, took 10,765 sq ft at the Innovation Quarter on a 10-year lease at £20.40 per sq ft.

Other existing occupiers at the park include The Native Antigen Company, a developer and manufacturer of antigens and antibodies, and quantum computing business Oxford Ionics.

Harris added: “Oxford Technology Park’s location, close to the academic and research institutions of Oxford as well as to Quantum Advanced Solutions’ customer base, was key to their decision to expand with OTP.”

Oxford Technology Park was acquired by Life Science REIT in May 2022. It now comprises five completed buildings totalling 173,400 sq ft and 333,200 sq ft of potential development space.
