Former JLL industrial and logistics director Andy Harding has joined Taurus Developments as a consultant and member of its advisory board.
The new role marks Harding’s first external appointment since leaving JLL. Harding was previously head of industrial and logistics clients at the consultancy before he left at the end of the year to set up his own consultancy.
He worked at JLL and King Sturge for more than 25 years, nine of which were spent leading the UK industrial and logistics team.
Taurus, which focuses on the industrial and logistics sectors, has developments underway in Stevenage, Harpenden and Ipswich. It has partnered with investors including Legal & General Investment Management, Nuveen Real Estate, Buccleuch Property, LaSalle Investment Management, Barwood Capital and Hammond Rutts Investments.
Taurus founder and managing director Michael Gibbens said Harding will play a role in sourcing potential new schemes and help guide the business as it grows.
Harding said: “Since leaving JLL, I have established an independent consultancy and Taurus is a perfect example of a business where I feel I can add value, particularly in the origination of new development opportunities alongside an over-arching advisory role to support the expansion of the business.
“Taurus has an enviable track record for delivering high-quality projects and, as the industrial and logistics sector reshapes itself after the disruption of the past three years, it is hungry for new development opportunities.”
Gibbens said: “Andy and I have known each other for many years and he is one of the most respected and experienced figures in our sector.
“It’s an excellent appointment to secure his expertise and services for the business and we welcome him to Taurus where I know he will make a very positive impact.”
Andrew Hynard, chair of Taurus Developments’ advisory board, said: “Today’s market demands a precise approach and the expertise to deliver successful developments even when the prevailing conditions are not wholly conducive.
“Taurus has demonstrated its ability to outperform on behalf of its partners and Andy’s appointment will further enhance its standing as a leading delivery partner in its sector.”
