Ex-Vita Group director to head Regeneration Brainery

Michele Steel has been named as the first chief executive of Regeneration Brainery, an organisation whose aim is to get a more diverse range of young people into property careers.

Steel has over 20 years of property experience, having previously served as director at Deloitte Real Estate, before recently holding strategic planning director roles at urban living platform Vita Group and residential developer Select Property.

In her new role, Steel will be responsible for strengthening Regeneration Brainery’s operations by reaching out to more young people and increasing the number of industry partnerships.

Established in Manchester in 2017, Regeneration Brainery has expanded across the UK to 10 cities, including London, Manchester, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Birmingham and Sheffield. It has worked with over 6,000 young people, one third of whom are now either working within property or studying industry-specific qualifications.

Judi Greenwood, who has served as director of strategy at Regeneration Brainery for the last five years, will leave the organisation to focus on her role as programme lead for regeneration network Future of Greater Manchester.
